Hypnosis

Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation, combined with focused concentration. It’s a natural and safe way to make positive changes that easily and effortlessly lead to a more fulfilling life. In hypnosis, you experience a state of consciousness which most people observe naturally several times a day. Have you ever been totally absorbed in something you’re doing, whether it’s reading a book, cooking or watching a movie? Were you so absorbed that you didn’t notice what else was going on around you? This focused state of attention is an everyday experience of hypnosis.

For thousands of years, man has recognized the power of hypnosis to:

  • Reduce stress and anxiety
  • Heal emotional scars
  • Improve performance
  • Change habits e.g. overeating, smoking, biting nails etc.
  • Speed the healing process
  • Reduce Pain
  • Enhance learning
  • Overcome fears

Hypnosis is defined as a natural, yet altered state of mind in which critical thinking is relaxed and selective thinking is maintained. In this state your mind (particularly your subconscious mind) is more open and responsive to positive suggestions.

The subconscious mind is incredibly powerful. Most habits, beliefs, fears and emotions are maintained and stored in the subconscious mind. Most unsuccessful attempts to change patterns of thought or behavior focus on the conscious mind. By contrast, hypnotherapy is the therapeutic use of hypnosis to communicate with your subconscious and bring about the changes you are seeking.

Clinical hypnotherapy, as an adjunct to your physician’s care, can help you make physical changes as well, such as eliminating pain and accelerating healing.

Hypnosis is a natural and safe, self-help process. Hypnotherapy is not the practice of medicine or psychotherapy. The hypnotherapy services provided are for educational and self-improvement purposes and are not intended for the diagnosis or treatment of any medical or psychological condition. If you have an ongoing medical illness, mental disability or mental illness, please consult a medical doctor, psychiatrist or psychologist.

Reiki

Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese restorative technique that can be used to reduce stress and encourage general relaxation, while promoting overall well-being. Reiki is a form of energy work, in which hands are placed off the body or lightly touching the body, as in “laying on of hands.” The intention is to create deep relaxation, help speed healing, reduce pain, and decrease other symptoms one may be experiencing. Reiki can also be done “long-distance,” (shared in Reiki Level 2).

The word “Reiki” is comprised of two Japanese words, Rei and Ki. An exact interpretation can be difficult when translating Japanese into English, there are many levels of meaning in the Japanese language. Therefore, it’s important to keep in mind the context in which the word is being used when attempting to communicate its essence. In the framework of this course, we will use the definition handed down in the Usui tradition, Rei, meaning “Universal” and Ki, meaning “Life Force Energy”.

Reiki is a safe, simple, non-invasive and natural method that can be used by anyone. It has been shown to be consistently effective in treating a number of physical, mental and emotional ailments and conditions. It also works to compliment other medical or therapeutic techniques, e.g. relieve side effects of medication and promote recovery following surgery, illness or injury.

Optimum health is a holistic and dynamic state of balance. Reiki works to restore that balance, freely flowing to affected areas and raising the vibratory level of the energy field in and around the physical body, thus, clearing stagnate, (or blocked), regions allowing the life force to move through in a natural and highly beneficial way.
While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religious basis, and there is nothing you must believe in order to learn and use Reiki. In fact, Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work regardless of one’s belief system. Because Reiki is Universal, many people find that continued use promotes a deeper understanding and connection to their personal beliefs.

BENEFITS OF REIKI

Reiki works at restoring balance on all levels and works directly on the problem or condition without masking or only relieving symptoms.

Some of the benefits of Reiki are:

  • Dissolves energy blocks
  • Promotes the natural balance between mind, body and spirit
  • Increases energy levels
  • Creates deep relaxation and helps the body release stress and tension
  • Clears the mind and improves focus
  • Accelerates the body’s self-healing ability
  • Aids better sleep
  • Reduces blood pressure
  • Helps relieve pain
  • Assists the body in cleansing itself from toxins
  • Supports the immune system
  • Helps spiritual growth and emotional cleansing

QiGong

Developed over 5000 years ago, Qigong is an ancient system of movement and breath exercises that cultivates peak physical health and peace of mind. It is officially known in China as the science of human potential and development.

Qigong practice opens our innate ability to heal, reduces stress and helps us reach our maximum human potential. Regular practice helps increase muscle tone and flexibility, as well as cultivates a sense of free-flowing energy in the body and enhances our connection to nature.

White Tiger Qigong’s specialty is deep dynamic Qigong which wrings out toxins and emotions out of the organs like sponge and wrings out blockages and emotions out of the meridians like a towel.

A signature feature of this Qigong is that it trains the practitioner to become flexible, yet strong and fluid all at the same time. This is practiced in our Dynamic Qigong forms. Dynamic forms range from balancing, deep stretching in low stances, to spinal twists that are most often derived from animal forms and dragon movements.

At Change Works you can join Qigong classes with Natalia, Senior White Tiger Qigong Instructor.

“I am very honoured to be a part of White Tiger Qigong family and share this beautiful ancient practice with others on our global mission to empower people to become healthy, balanced and fulfilled.” – Natalia

NLP

Neuro-Linguistic Psychology was developed in the early 1970’s by Richard Bandler and John Grinder, according to Bandler “NLP was specifically created in order to allow us to do magic by creating new ways of understanding how verbal and non-verbal communication affect the human brain. As such it presents us all with the opportunity to not only communicate better with others, but also learn how to gain more control over what we considered to be automatic functions of our own neurology.”

NLP is primarily concerned with identifying the ways in which we have been conditioned to think, act, and feel. Learning to free yourself from unwanted limiting beliefs and habits, it quickly and easily identifies and breaks through the limitations and conditioning that stop you from realizing your full potential. NLP will show you how to choose your thoughts and master your emotions, creating endless possibility.

We live in a world where change happens quicker than it has ever happened before. What differentiates people who succeed from those who fail is the strategies they use in today’s competitive world.

NLP has the tools that can help you manifest success, whether you are an individual, in business, a professional, a parent or a student. NLP will provide you with the skills for a higher level of personal excellence in todays’ ever more challenging and complex world.

Sound Healing

Singing Bowls also known as Tibetan Bowls or Himalayan Bowls, emit very harmonious tones, which sound is a synonym of purity to our ears.

The sound of the Singing bowls entrains the brain to move into the Theta brain wave frequencies that induce deep meditative and peaceful states, clarity of mind, and intuition. The sound vibrations impact our nervous system, engaging our relaxation reflex and inhibiting the stress or pain response.

The bowls that are used for Meditations are carefully selected to sing in harmony to induce a sense of peacefulness and relaxation that goes beyond a physical body.

At Change Works we offer group and private Sound Healing sessions. Email info@changeworksad.com for more details.

Aromatherapy Consultations

Aromatherapy can be defined as the controlled use of essential oils to maintain and promote physical, psychological, and spiritual wellbeing.” Gabriel Mojay

Aromatherapy, also referred to as Essential Oil therapy, can be defined as the art and science of utilizing naturally extracted aromatic essences from plants to balance, harmonize and promote the health of body, mind and spirit. It seeks to unify physiological, psychological and spiritual processes to enhance an individual’s innate healing process.

It was the French perfumer and chemist, Rene- Maurice Gattefosse, who coined the term “ aromatherapie ” in 1937 with his publication of a book by that name. His book “Gattefosse’s Aromatherapy” contains early clinical findings for utilizing essential oils for a range of physiological ailments. It seems vital to understand what Gattefosse’s intention for coining the word was, as he clearly meant to distinguish the medicinal application of essential oils from their perfumery applications. So we can interpret his coining of the word  to mean the therapeutic application or the medicinal use of aromatic substances (essential oils) for holistic healing. As the practice of aromatherapy has progressed, over the years, it has adopted a more holistic approach encompassing the whole body, mind and spirit (energy).

Aromatherapie

Aromatherapy can be defined as the art and science of utilizing naturally extracted aromatic essences from plants to balance, harmonize and promote the health of body, mind and spirit. It is an art and science, which seeks to explore the physiological, psychological and spiritual realm of the individual’s response to aromatic extracts as well as to observe and enhance the individual’s innate healing process. As a holistic practice, Aromatherapy is both a preventative approach as well as an active method to employ during acute and chronic stages of illness or ‘dis’- ease.
